Do not store an already-expired expiry when tokenExpires is missing.
The resume login response can omit tokenExpires. In that case, makeClientLoggedIn stores the current time as LOGIN_TOKEN_EXPIRES. The page-load check then removes the valid stored credentials.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Clear local login state only after the server confirms logout.
logout calls makeClientLoggedOut() in a finally block. If the logout method fails (network error, timeout, server error), the client still removes USER_ID, LOGIN_TOKEN and LOGIN_TOKEN_EXPIRES. The error then propagates to the caller. The server-side login token stays valid but orphaned, and it is never revoked.
Meteor's accounts-base cleared client state only after a successful logout method call. This change widens that behavior.
Clear local state on success. Also clear it when the server reports an auth error, because the session is already invalid in that case. Rethrow other errors so the caller can retry or show a message.

Learning: In this repository (RocketChat/Rocket.Chat), Biome lint rules are not used even if a biome.json exists. When reviewing TypeScript files (e.g., packages/ui-voip/src/providers/useMediaSession.ts), ensure lint suggestions do not reference Biome-specific rules. Rely on general ESLint/TypeScript lint rules and project conventions instead.

Learning: In the Rocket.Chat repository, do not reference Biome lint rules in code review feedback. Biome is not used even if biome.json exists; only reference Biome rules if there is explicit, project-wide usage documented. For TypeScript files, review lint implications without Biome guidance unless the project enables Biome rules.

Cancel the pending resume retry when a different login succeeds.
Only resumeStoredSession and makeClientLoggedOut clear resumeRetryTimer. makeClientLoggedIn does not clear it. The timer callback also does not check that token is still the stored token before it calls loginWithToken. The stale-token check at Line 125 runs only after a failed attempt.
The failure sequence is:
- A page-load resume for token A fails with a transient error, such as a 500 or a rate limit.
- The token is kept, and a retry is scheduled for up to 60 s later.
- Before the retry fires, the user logs in with credentials. This can be a different account.
makeClientLoggedInstores token B. - The timer fires and calls
loginWithToken(A). If token A is still valid, the call succeeds.makeClientLoggedInthen overwrites token B and the socket identity with account A.
As a result, the client silently switches to the old session.
Fix this in two places:
- Clear the timer in
makeClientLoggedIn. - In the timer callback, skip the retry when the stored token has changed.

Update makeClientLoggedIn to clear the pending resumeRetryTimer and reset
resumeRetryDelay, then guard the setTimeout callback around resumeStoredSession
so it retries only when getStoredItem(STORAGE_KEYS.LOGIN_TOKEN) still matches
the captured token.

Clear nextRetryAt when the retry is cancelled.
nextRetryAt is reset only at the start of connect(). close() clears retryOptions.retryTimer, but it leaves nextRetryAt set. Consider a close that happens while a retry is scheduled, for example during the logout teardown. After that close, connection.nextRetryAt still reports a due time for an attempt that will never run. getConnectionStatus maps closed to waiting and passes this stale retryTime to the status UI.
Set this.nextRetryAt = undefined in close(). This matches the timer clear in that method.

136-136: Cancel the pending resume retry when a different login succeeds. The issue from the previous review is still present.
makeClientLoggedIndoes not clearresumeRetryTimer. The timer callback also does not check whethertokenis still the stored token. Suppose a user logs in with credentials while a retry is pending. The retry can then callloginWithTokenwith the old token and replace the new session. To fix this, clear the timer inmakeClientLoggedIn. Also make the callback return early ifgetStoredItem(STORAGE_KEYS.LOGIN_TOKEN) !== token.

Settle waitForConnection when the connection attempt fails.
When the status is connecting or reconnecting, waitForConnection waits only for connected. Connection.connect() can instead set the status to failed, emit disconnected, and reject its connection promise without emitting connected. If retries are exhausted or the socket closes, waitForConnection remains pending.
Then callLoginMethod does not reach its finally block. pendingLogins and loggingIn can remain set, and the storage poller keeps returning while loggingIn is true.
Observe connection failure and close events in waitForConnection, or add a bounded timeout, so every failed connection attempt settles the login.

Every client of a server being redeployed fails its resume at the same moment, so retrying them on the same schedule sends them back together and can trip the rate limits or IP login blocks again. Retries now wait a random part of the backoff, and the backoff only grows once a retry has actually run, so a second failure report doesn't push the next attempt further out. Introduced by #43006
The identity-provider logout returned a rejected promise when anything after the decision to use single logout threw: loading the SDK, the samlLogout call, the storage or the redirect. The caller only logs out locally on a resolved false, so the user stayed logged in. Those failures now resolve to false and the local logout runs, as the Meteor.logout override did before. Introduced by #42921
…y points
The login helper and the TOTP spec reached into Meteor's browser runtime with
require('meteor/accounts-base') and window.Meteor.callAsync, so they would break
as soon as the client stops loading those packages. The accounts and connection
modules now expose window.__rocketChatLoginWithToken and
window.__rocketChatCallMethod in both builds, and the specs use them. The call
paths under test don't change.
The REST client cleared the stored credentials on any 401 answer to a mutation. Endpoints also answer 401 for their own reasons, such as hiding a room the user can no longer access, and those logged the user out. The session now only ends when the answer is the authentication middleware's "You must be logged in to do this.", which is the one that says the token no longer identifies a user.
Logging out one device from the device management list broadcasts a force_logout with that device's session id. The server already closes only that session, but the web client ignored the id, so every open session of the user wiped its credentials. The client now compares the id with the one of the connection it is logged in on, and only a logout that names it, or names no session at all, ends the session.
A logout closed the SDK socket, which failed every method call on it. A forced logout that arrived after a new login had started failed that login with ConnectionLostError. The socket now stays open while a login is in progress, since that login authenticates it again.
…g in again The reset logs the user out on its own schedule. Logging in before that logout arrives races with it.
…time Status readers such as a reconnect countdown need to know how many attempts were made and when the next one is due.
… too The Vite build's native modules become the client's only implementation: accounts, connection, the DDP codec, the transport flag and the storage switch. Nothing on the client calls Meteor.connection, Accounts or Tracker anymore, so the overrides that bridged them to DDPSDK go away, together with the local minimongo, watch and user helpers that only those overrides used. The TOTP end-to-end spec now drives the call through the client's callMethod, exposed on window like __rocketChatSdk, since Meteor.callAsync was the bridge.
…ser bundle .meteor/packages applies to every architecture, so the server's runtime packages also shipped their client halves (ddp-client, accounts-base, minimongo, tracker, reload, autoupdate). A local package now uses and implies them for the server only; the client keeps meteor, the compilers, the minifiers and dynamic-import. The browser closure drops from 73 to 29 Meteor packages, none of them DDP. The new-version notice came from the autoupdate client. The client now subscribes to the same meteor_autoupdate_clientVersions publication through DDPSDK and fires client_changed when the server serves a different build than the one in __meteor_runtime_config__, so the notice and the dev reload keep working.

The Meteor-built web client runs on DDPSDK and REST only, and Meteor's DDP client no longer ships to the browser.
The branch stacks eight commits, each meant to be extracted on its own. The first two are follow-ups to PRs that already merged, and the next three are prerequisites that also work in today's client:
