docs: add MCP Inspector: Our AI Software Factory - #2498
Merged
Merged
Conversation
Adds docs/ai-software-factory.md — an end-to-end explanation of how contributions work since v2.0.0: the rules/skills split, the issue lifecycle, the PR flow (including how a working session gets started and Claude Code's /goal mode), the three automated sweeps that replaced Dependabot PRs, the human-gated security-advisory track, the quality gate, and where the process is headed. Backed by verified numbers: 268 PRs merged and 9 releases shipped in the ~8 weeks since v2.0.0, 265 of those PRs (99%) agent-authored. - Distinguish the two issue intake paths in the v2 lifecycle: a maintainer-created issue (via issue-create) is approved by definition and boards straight into Todo, while everything else (outside reporters, or a maintainer's own hand-opened issue) lands unmilestoned in Incoming. Mark the triage/approval steps as Incoming-path only. - Correct the quality-gate stage-list reference: one stage (smoke:web:firefox) is local-only, not two. - Correct the 'Where this is headed' section: scoring and boarding an issue still requires someone to invoke the issue-triage sweep today; UI-filed and sweep-filed issues don't board themselves. npm run local:gate passes (docs-only change). Thanks for the review — all four findings were accurate and are addressed in 0a942dd (replies posted on each thread). No further review needed from here; this is ready for a maintainer to merge. |

- An issue that arrives outside issue-create isn't on the board at all until issue-triage is triggered over it — it doesn't land in Incoming automatically. - Board #28 has a GitHub Projects workflow enabled that closes the linked issue automatically once its card reaches Done. The manual step on merge is moving the card to Done; nothing separately closes the issue by hand. Corrected the v2 lifecycle, the PR-flow bullet, and the launch-session paragraph to match. - Mention the skills eval (npm run skills:eval) alongside the Claude Code / Copilot CLI parity claim: it measures both first-move (prompt-triggered / model self-directed) and hand-off (second-order) skill firing, against both agents. npm run local:gate passes (docs-only change). Closes #2497
Adds
docs/ai-software-factory.md, an end-to-end explanation of how contributions actually happen since v2.0.0: the rules/skills split, the issue lifecycle, the PR flow (including how a working session gets started and Claude Code's/goalmode), the three automated sweeps that replaced Dependabot PRs, the human-gated security-advisory track, the quality gate, and where the process is headed.Backed by verified numbers rather than just describing the intent: 268 PRs merged and 9 releases shipped in the ~8 weeks since v2.0.0, 265 of those PRs (99%) agent-authored.
Also adds a row to the README's Documentation table linking the new doc.
Docs-only change.
