Update dependencies with Composer and keep internal dependency constraints in ^X.Y format. Resolve packages for the lowest PHP version tested in CI and run PHPMD from the Composer-installed version.
Validation: Composer validation and the repository test/check scripts pass locally. GitHub Actions will verify the PHP matrix.
