Proposed Changes

Part of splitting #22 into small pull requests that can be reviewed one at a time. It is stacked on #41 (docs/async-task), so it shows only its own change; merge #41 first.

Documentation only. Writing the integration tests of #22 exposed R3 1.3.1 defects that the library cannot work around without reimplementing the operators, so the docs state them where they apply:

Types of changes

What types of changes does your code introduce to FSharp.Control.R3?
Put an x in the boxes that apply

  • Bugfix (non-breaking change which fixes an issue)
  • New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality)
  • Breaking change (fix or feature that would cause existing functionality to not work as expected)

Checklist

Put an x in the boxes that apply. You can also fill these out after creating the PR. If you're unsure about any of them, don't hesitate to ask. We're here to help! This is simply a reminder of what we are going to look for before merging your code.

  • Build and tests pass locally – 0 warnings, Fantomas is clean, and the tests that exist at this commit pass
  • I have added tests that prove my fix is effective or that my feature works (if appropriate) – in test: cover the library with integration tests #22, the top of this stack
  • I have added necessary documentation (if appropriate)

Further comments

iterAsync is not affected by the mapAsync limitations since #38.

The integration tests that follow in this series exposed R3 1.3.1
defects that the library cannot work around without reimplementing the
operators, so the docs state them where they apply:

- `bind`: an inner failure after the source completed is ignored, so the
result completes without it, or never completes when it was the last
  inner sequence running (Cysharp/R3#401).
- `catch`: disposing the result after it switched to the handler's
sequence leaves that sequence subscribed (Cysharp/R3#400).
- `mapAsync`, both flavours: a failure after the source completed is
dropped (Cysharp/R3#377), an `OperationCanceledException` is never
reported and stops the sequential modes (Cysharp/R3#399), and every
failure of a limited `AwaitSequentialParallel` leaks a slot
  (Cysharp/R3#397); `iterAsync` is not affected.
